Leigh

How much time do YOU spend shopping, trying to find a perfect fit of jeans?! Don't get me wrong, I love shopping but trying on a dozen pair of jeans before I find something decent is not my favorite. Also, whatever I find, it might look good but it's gonna be sooo uncomfortable.. Until a friend told me that Carine Roitfeld herself appearantly finds her best fitting jeans at Topshop. Well, I know that we all love J Brand, Current Elliott jeans (& Co.) but when I bought my first pair of amazing fitting, (also for shorter girls like me) and simply really good looking AND comfortable pair of the "Leigh" model from Topshop, I fell in love with them.. Now I'm stocking up with a new color (they're also available in prints) everytime I enter the store ;)

Chou C(s)hoes

We've all seen and heard a lot about Louis Vuitton's S/S 2012 collection including these beautiful pastel, metal caped and detailed pumps. Not only that they must be incredibly uncomfortable for our feet (looking at first picture), they also make our bank accounts feel uncomfortable with their steep prices.
Here are some alternatives that will make your wallets as well as your feet feel more comfortable. Trust me, I tried each of these models on- though I would not buy them: Pastel + Pointy = Making my actually pretty small feet look gigantic - and I recommend the Stuart Weitzman pair for a comfortable wear AND price.

 Both Stuart Weitzman: 365 USD

And then there is the even cheaper but still very nicely looking BUT less comfortable versions by ZARA.

Both ZARA: 79 USD

BLBD: Badass Little Black Dress

Everyone loves the little black dress. Sometimes, I feel that people think they don't need to add anything to it, cause it's such a classic piece, but many times it just looks boring (of course except pieces that play with original cuts and fabrics). Here, my beautiful model is going to show you how to turn a simple black dress into a badass outfit.

Dress: Pull&Bear

Next step for this dress: add a belt. As we're going to add more layers here, I recommend a black belt, not to overload the whole look. I love how this one by Louis Vuitton is black but still adds to the look with its structure.
As we don't want that typical LBD look, we're adding a long, grey knit cardigan and a leather vest from Zadig & Voltaire to the outfit, and voila..

To complete this look the only thing left is some dark red lipstick (matte, shiny would be too much) and we've turned a simple black dress into a "unique"  going out look..

Fou or Chou? On How To Wear Fur

I know the fur season is practically over and we want to focus on more light fabrics with spring on its' way.. But as we say goodbye to our (beloved) furs, I want to quickly go over some of the most daring and creative among these specimen in early 2012. Although very risky, these ladies somehow (they're geniuses) still managed to look gorgeous.

1) The costume:
Whether this means a black/white striped skunk like (referring to actual animal) one, or like a furry creature from sesame street, as seen on Anna Dello Russo, both variations are meant only and solely for the rather extravagant type.

2) The Cape:
This can include mink "sleeved" capes, superman like feathery capes and, my personal favorite, the "raven wings".

3) The Fur Trim:
This is the more moderate use of fur- as trim on sleeves and hemlines

Manspiration: Ilija

Occasionally you come across a guy who makes no mistakes when it comes to fashion. He is elegant but likes to experiment (successfully) with clothes and accessories. I believe that these men should be acknowledged as what they are: inspirational. That's why I decided to include "manspiration" in my blog- a section that features these men, because we can learn a lot from them ;)

20 Years of Red Soles

Christian Louboutin, the Ferrari of all shoes, is celebrating his 20th anniversary in fashion this year, and for this occasion has unveiled a new collection of his beautiful red soled shoes. The collection is inspired by his most successful and famous styles. Click here to view full collection: http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/02/06/christian-louboutin-20th-anniversary-collection/gallery

As I get excited about shoes very easily, I decided to demonstrate my support from the distance by stocking up my shoe closet with a classic pair in nude.

Sparkly Skulls

Talking of jewellery, this extraordinary bracelet is a huge (compare to wrist), sparkly skulls ensemble. Like its' owner, my lovely (and beautiful and intelligent and amazing) friend, who I went shopping with yesterday, it is rather unusual, let's call it/her special. A good 15 people approached her about it when I was with her- Funny fact: it's gifted and she has NO IDEA where it's from.. And besides that the center purple skull is bigger than her own (she's quite small), it fits her and her style perfectly!
Still, I don't think I know (barely) anyone else who could pull something like this bracelet off as well as she does, cause it's with no doubt a bit fou..

I'm a firm believer that a (fancy) necklace has the power to make a big difference in an outfit. At the moment, I'm particularly obsessed with semi chunky necklaces, either chained or with colorful glass/Swarowski/plastic stones, or preferably both.
Tomorrow I'll post some favorites from my own jewellery box.

Wild Flowers

All Images via Shopbop

Although not easily wearable, I just loved the mixed floral prints that were presented during fashion week by nearly everyone! Even my favorite, Lanvin, showed a beautiful floral dress (worn with a bordeaux fur shawl) among their otherwise not  so printed styles. Obviously this trend was going to just flood stores, such as this "Wild Flowers" lookbook by shopbop.
The styles in these pictures are from Thakoon, Elizabeth and James, and Derek Lam.

Fou or Chou? Toddlers Edition

When I was little, matching pacifier to every outfit was a must. But besides that I was a really bad dressed baby- my parents would have never in their weirdest dreams thought about dressing me in Chanel or furs ;)
Although the thought of having them better dressed than many adults is incredibly weird, I still find these toddlers so adorable. What do you think- Fou or Chou?

Pastel Nails

"Mint Candy Apple"
What bold colors were last spring/summer, pastels are this season. Personally, I'm beyond excited to cocoon myself (yes I'm purposely referencing butterflies) in mint, rose and blush yellows of different shades and light fabrics. Good way to start before the weather cooperates: nail colors. Here are some of my favorites by Essie.

"Looking For Love"
"A Crewed Interest"
